According to the American researcher Carol Johnston Ph D., of Arizona State University, vitamin C and glucose are competing to enter the body and follow the same “path”. When the amount of vitamin C is sufficient, it inhibits the absorption of sugars and keeping blood glucose to normal levels. Lemon, lowers blood sugar and insulin production by the pancreas, while increasing metabolism which helps burn fat.

It is the role of vitamin C in the production of norepinephrine, a hormone that can effectively burn fat for energy. Vitamin C is also involved in the production of carnitine, a substance which transports fat molecules from blood to mitochondria to be converted into energy and can turn fat into muscle.

It also acts on the connective tissue in the cleansing of toxins, which has the effect of improving the lymphatic circulation and helps eliminate cellulite and strengthen the skin tissue.

Researchers reported weight losses of up to 8 pounds in six weeks by consuming 1,000 mg per day of vitamin C. Lemons are very good sources of natural vitamin C, they have proven to be effective in controlling weight when consumed regularly over meals.

Consume daily, ten to fifteen minutes before each meal, a lemon in the form of lemonade.
